I created Tap Budget because I wanted to track where my money was going, but logging expenses at the store checkout was always too slow and awkward with existing apps. On the flip side, taking receipts to log later at home never worked for me—I’d either forget or just feel too lazy. That’s why I set out to build an app where logging an amount and category takes the absolute minimum number of taps humanly possible. I designed it with a numeric keypad right on the home screen. You just type the amount, tap the category, and the expense is saved instantly. Thanks to this, logging a transaction now literally takes a couple of seconds.
