I used to do a lot of personal development reading while I was in university when taking the bus on my commute. I ended up getting into audiobooks because reading on the bus was too tiring. Books are nice, but I often found myself wanting to read articles and things I find on the internet that aren't available in audio form. Several years later, AI voices were becoming much better so I thought it would be great to leverage production-ready AI as part of an app that's sort of like a personal assistant for reading. Reading is a pervasive and ubiquitous problem that people deal with on a daily basis due to the sheer amount of information available, and I wanted to tackle the information overload problem by making it more efficient to get your desired readings done easily on the go and be productive when your alternative is to waste your time scrolling on social media.
