The Story of Kerygma - Bible Explained
I didn’t create this app because I had everything figured out. I created it because I kept getting stuck.
Every time I tried to read the Bible seriously, I would eventually hit passages that felt dense, obscure, or difficult to understand. And almost every time, I found myself doing the same thing: stopping my reading, opening a browser, and searching for explanations. It broke the flow. What was supposed to be a moment of reflection turned into fragmented research.
Over time, that frustration turned into an idea: what if the explanations were already there, exactly when you need them?
That’s how Kerygma started. I wanted a reading experience where you could stay fully immersed in the text, while still having access to clear, meaningful explanations—without ever leaving the page. Not academic overload, not endless commentary, just the essential insight to help you truly understand what you’re reading.
But there was another challenge I kept seeing around me.
For many people close to me, the Bible simply felt too long, too intimidating, or too time-consuming. They wanted to engage with it, but didn’t know where to start—or didn’t have the time to go through it chapter by chapter.
So I built a second way to read.
A “quick reading” mode that transforms each chapter into a fluid, visual story—almost like a series of short slides. It highlights the key moments, the essential teachings, and the most powerful passages, making the Bible more accessible without losing its depth.
Kerygma is really the combination of those two needs:
– staying immersed while understanding deeply
– and making the Bible approachable, even for those with limited time
It’s not meant to replace traditional reading, but to remove the friction that often prevents it.
In the end, I built the app I wish I had when I first tried to read the Bible seriously.
