The Story of CGHEVEN – VFX Effects Library

The CGHEVEN mobile app didn’t start as an idea; it started as a gap I kept facing every day. While building CGHEVEN and working as a 3D/VFX artist, I noticed something: most asset platforms are built for desktop workflows, but creators today consume, discover, and get inspired on mobile. Whenever I was away from my setup, I could scroll, get ideas, even plan projects, but I couldn’t actually access or download the assets I needed in a smooth way. There was always friction. So I asked a simple question: Why can’t a creator discover, preview, and download production-ready assets directly from their phone?” That’s where the CGHEVEN mobile app began. The goal was not just to make a mobile version of a website; it was to create a fast, lightweight, and practical tool for creators. Something that fits into real-life workflows: browsing assets on the go, saving them, downloading instantly, and syncing with their creative process. I designed the app around three core ideas: Speed: No unnecessary steps. Open the app, find what you need, and download it instantly. Accessibility: All assets are free and open (CC0), so anyone can use them without restrictions. Continuity: Your creative flow shouldn’t depend on being at your desk. The app focuses heavily on visual-first content like videos, HDRIs, and backgrounds because that’s what creators actually use daily. Features like filters, previews, and download management are there to remove friction, not add complexity. What makes this app different is that it’s built from real usage. I’m not guessing what creators need, I’m building what I personally use in my own workflow. Every update comes from a real problem I’ve faced. The CGHEVEN mobile app is not just a companion to the website; it’s a step toward making creative resources truly accessible anywhere, anytime. Because creativity doesn’t only happen at a desk, and the tools shouldn’t be limited to one either.
